Mississauga is a city in Southern Ontario located in the Regional Municipality of Peel, and in the western part of the Greater Toronto Area. Primarily recognized as being a large suburb, Mississauga has been trying to create a distinctive image for itself over the past few years. It held an international architectural design competition in 2006 for a 56-story condominium tower, to be called Absolute World, that is intended to be a landmark for the city.
Toronto Pearson International airport in north east Mississauga is a hub for Air Canada and provides flights to regional, national, and international destinations. It is Canada's busiest airport with over 30 million passenger movements annually.
