Located in South-western Indiana along the banks of the Ohio River, Evansville is Indiana’s third largest city and the regional hub for the Tri-State area.
Evansville was born on 200 acres of land purchased from the government in 1812 by Hugh McGary, Jr. McGary enlisted General Robert M. Evans, an attorney and territorial legislator for whom Evansville was ultimately named, to assist in incorporating Evansville as a city. Evansville was officially incorporated on January 27, 1847 and has served as the economic and social centre for the Tri-State area since that time.
Evansville has a moderate climate and four distinct seasons. Average temperatures range from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 78 degrees Fahrenheit.
