London is a megalopolis (a word coined from Greek, meaning megacity or enormous city) and it is made up of 33 boroughs or administrative entities. Another way of looking at metropolitan London is to divide the urban agglomeration (a term used by UN) into Inner London and Outer London.

Each London borough has its own distinct personality and they reflect the evolution of urban development from the boundaries of the City of London, outwards, to the current map.

In alphabetical order, the boroughs are:

[ Barking - Dagenham ] [ Barnet ] [ Bexley ] [ Brent ] [ Bromley ] [ Camden ] [ Croydon ] [ Ealing ] [ Enfield ] [ Greenwich ] [ Hackney ] [ Hammersmith & Fulham ] [ Haringey ] [ Harrow ] [ Havering ] [ Hillingdon ] [ Hounslow ] [ Islington ] [ Kensington & Chelsea ] [ Kingston-upon-Thames ] [ Lambeth ] [ Lewisham ] [ Merton ] [ Newham ] [ Redbridge ] [ Richmond upon Thames ] [ Southwark ] [ Sutton ] [ Tower Hamlets ] [ Waltham Forest ] [ Wandsworth ] [ Wembley ] [ Westminster ]
