World Time round the clock

Time now in various major cities around the world

The green line shows GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)

This new digital timepiece is a game-changer. Too bold a statement?

No, because it shows time in several major cities without any other adjustments. No drop-downs online, no moving parts in the physical world.

Imagine the Shepherd Gate Clock at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, with its 24-hour clock, displaying not just Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), but also time in other places.

The new timepiece shows the full 24-hour cycle, with an extra element, a green line that shows GMT. As time goes by, city names move from one hour to the other, making apparent the change in clock time.

The GMT line is moving too and it provides a visual signpost to understand how many hours a city is ahead or behind GMT.
